Birthe Nesset's PhD  was  in trust in Human-Robot Interactions and was part of the UKRI Tast Node on Trust project team.  She is especially interested in non verbal and verbal communication in relation to robot failure ('where failure is more interesting that success'), transparency and 'artifical trust'.

She  was initially upervised by Prof Helen Hastie and Prof Thusha Rajendran and then by Dr Marta Romeo and Prof Thusha Rajendran.
